A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the SNAP! Conference held in Salt Lake City. I had the opportunity to meet bloggers, connect with craft company representatives and even sewed a scarf!
One of the classes at SNAP!, Rock Your Mobile Phone Photography, was especially interesting to me. So often, we think that good photography requires expensive cameras and a degree in design. In this class, I learned that all you need is a phone and a few apps – that’s it!
Instagram and Pinterest are inherently visual social networks, so it almost doesn’t matter what the subject of the image is – it’s more about how it looks. That’s why it’s important to look at photo manipulation apps – filters and text can elevate an ordinary image and make it completely unique. Chari from Persnickity Prints reviewed a few photos before and after they were manipulated with photo apps. In the end, the apps made the pictures look so much more eye-catching.
Photography Apps You Need To Check Out –
- ProHDR – If you take product photos on your phone, this is a great app to use. You can adjust the brightness, warmth and tint of a photo all on one screen.
- Camera+ – This app offers more filters and photo options than Instagram, so you can really play around and find the effects you like. The sharing options are also great if you post photos on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
- Pic Tap Go – Create professional-style photography in just seconds. Just take the picture, pick a filter or effect and click “Go” to share it on social media sites. If you really like the “recipe” you use to create the effect for that photo, you can save the setting and use it again. Again, this is a great option if you want to manipulate one photos and share it across various social media channels at once.
