How to Drive Traffic to Your Handmade Business

February 21, 2013 by Maggie 5 Comments

I love when people in a community get together and give each other advice. Especially when it comes to something that everyone is looking to learn how to do better – like run a handmade business or sell crafts online. Unfortunately, our little Facebook community is still growing and we don’t always have the best group conversations there. I was floored when I found a post on Craftaholics Anonymous that had pulled together 28 awesome tips from their Facebook community!

How To Get Traffic

One of their Facebook fans had a question about how to drive even more traffic to her handmade business – a great question and one that we probably all have – and they posted it on their page to get the community to help out. Not only did they get a ton a responses, they got a ton of really helpful responses.

I have been making original designs in knit, crochet, sewing. I sold a few items, but I would like to sell more. I am a senior and retired. I made coats, hats, dresses, skirts all my original designs and would like to sell more. I am now looking for a place that would display my designs and sell them for me.

This is my second year at a Farmer’s Market in VA (did other craft fairs in MD) an it has taken until this year for my business to take off. So my advice –be patient. And treat ever customer as if they are the most important person you have seen that day!
