You can outsource some common business tasks to a virtual assistant or intern. Here’s an example of what you can easily take off of your plate:
- Administrative Tasks – Do you spend a lot of time on admin tasks, such as website and blog maintenance, listing new items, taking down listings, bookkeeping, and so forth? Hand these tasks over to a VA or an intern so you can focus on making your product.
- Customer Service – How much time do you spend on answering emails? Train a VA or Intern to answer your email. If they receive an email asking a question that isn’t common, you can always step in and take care of it. But think about how much time you’d be saving if you weren’t answering the same basic questions all day.
- Marketing – Do you feel like you spend too much time on social networks? Many virtual assistants specialize in online marketing and can handle your tweets and updates for you. You can always pop in from time to time and enjoy the conversation, but let someone else worry about the majority of it.
Social media isn’t the only marketing task that can be handed over. You can hire someone to write your newsletter, help you land interviews on blogs and podcasts, help with SEO, and more.
Letting go of some of your business tasks may feel difficult at first. You created your business and it can be hard to give up some of the control. On the other hand, it may feel like a huge relief and weight off of your shoulders.
The main point to remember is that you’re freeing up time to work on what only you can do: make new products!
