When you sell your knit and crochet wears online or at craft fairs, sometimes the difference between a successful selling day and not can be the color and quality of your materials. However, finding the perfect color or fiber or weight can be difficult if you’re shopping for all your yarn, hooks, and needles at your local craft stores. As much as supporting your local yarn shop is important, they are limited by space and sometimes just won’t be able to carry that perfect yarn. This is where shopping online for yarn has it’s advantages, especially if you have one specific item that always seems to out sell the rest.
Luckily, the internet can come to the rescue here as it offers a variety of weights and colors – even off season. Still want to make brightly neon knits for winter but your local Micheal’s stopped carrying them for the fall? No worries, there’s a shop online that can fill your order!

I love that you’ve complied this list of online sources for purchasing yarn because I am one of millions that have only two yarn shops to choose from within 20miles: Michael’s or Joann’s. *SIGH* So having online sources is a God-Send….but I was shocked to see that you didn’t include my absolute favorite source for yarn, ideas & even patterns: Webs! What would I do without that great source for yarn that automatically gives you 20% off on purchases of $60 & 25% off purchases of $120! And they deliver them very quickly & always send exactly the right thing. Thanks again for the list-I already have it saved to my laptop.
Another place to buy yarn is knitting-warehouse.com
they have reasonable prices and reasonable shipping charges. that have a wide variety of yarns and books and supplies.
