I think by this point we’ve realized that a large percentage of the American population owns a smartphone and because of that there is an app for anything you can imagine. It shouldn’t be surprising that there’s an app for all of us craft business folks either. Well, in all honesty there are probably several apps that are geared towards small businesses, but I saw this one was specifically geared towards craft business owners, no matter how big or small! Welcome to Weave.
The Weave app not only lets you plan a to-do list with reminders throughout your day, you can also easily track your income and expenses right on your phone. The best part is you can also track projects you are working on whether that’s for a craft fair or your Etsy store. This way you can better prioritize which projects need to get finished before the big craft fair or for that sale in your Etsy store.
The project feature gives you a percentage based on how many tasks you’ve completed for the specific project to easier track your progress. You put in what you need to do to get a project done and as you check those items off your percentage increases and the app even tells you how much time was spent on a particular project. Pretty neat huh?
If you can’t afford to higher a personal assistant for your craft business, I think this app might be the next best thing. Oh and did I mention it’s free? You can also check out the review on Craftzine.
Another cool app that would come in handy for busy businesses is Scanner Pro. It’s a little bit more than the normal $.99 I spend on my apps, but it is worth it if you have a lot of paper you are looking to digitize. You can scan invoices, receipts, and any document into your phone. From there you can rearrange the orientation and even combine several documents onto one page. And, of course, you can email or print any scanned documents.
My personal favorite app, and the one I use the most, is Evernote. It’s the perfect app for keep tracking of all your brilliant ideas and inspirations on the go. That’s why I love it, because I always see something that sparks an idea when I’m out and Evernote makes it easy to snap a picture and write a quick note. It also keeps track of the time and date in case that’s important to you. It is mostly like carrying around a digital notebook that you can add pictures and links to. And since I don’t believe in paying for apps (unless they are really, really, really awesome) you can bet it’s free! Read the review on Macworld if you are not convinced.
Those are just a few. There are plenty of apps that will help you get organized in business. If you’re an Esty seller, they have pages and pages of apps that you can add to your store to help enhance search and user experience. Check them out and if you use any, let us know how you liked them!
What apps do you use to help keep your sanity and boost sales?

I use SQUARE for swiping and processing credit cards. You are only charged a small percent of each transaction, and there are no monthly or gateway fees. In short, if you don’t use it, you are not paying for it. The app and the device is free. I love it! Perfect for small business!
Thanks for the tip Jeanne!
You always have such great tips .. this is my 1st posting but I really wanted to let you know that I also use Square. LOVE IT! I actually have 2, one free from the site and 1 that I bought at Best Buy for 9.99 and when I activated it the $10 was refunded right back to my account. I use one for the ‘fairs’ and such and keep one in my purse so that if I am wearing a piece that I made and someone wants to buy it .. poof done and ya gotta love that 🙂
Oh wow Sherrie, I’ll definitely have to check it out now! Sounds like a great tool.
These sound like great apps. Weave and Evernote sound like something I could really use. I’m always drawing little sketches of things I see for ideas. And weave can help me kept track of how much time spent on a project, and my expenses. Thanks for sharing this great apps.
They sound like great apps. Just wish they were availlable for Android phones!
I’ll do some research and add in any Android business apps I can find!
I have an Android phone, so this app is useless. Not everyone owns an Iphone. Can you please consider Android users next time? Thanks.
Hi Leanette, sorry about that! I’m keeping an eye out for cool Andriod apps for another article.
I just wanted to share that paypal has a c/c swipe device now also, and since I already had/use paypal it just made since to go w/ them. Didn’t need ANOTHER acct to signup for, just dwld PaypalHere app, logon, ready! Easy to use, can create inventory w/pics & prices b4 hand/as u finish them, so to checkout cust, just press item(s) then it sends detailed invoice to them@ completed trans. Plus a few more ease of use helpful features, set tax, incl disc/coup…it has proven its self already as my must have biz tool in a short time! PS-swiper & app are both FREE, & same trans fee @ square!!
**Android here also, so ill be on the lookout for that article.
Thanks for the advice Trey! I didn’t know that.
I used to use weave so much and absolutely loved it! As my previous phone broke I have now got a new phone and I can’t find the Weave app on the App store! Can anyone help?
Thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately I can’t get ‘weave’ as I am based in the uk. However I have just found Evernote. It’s exactly what I wanted and I have been searching through the App Store for hours without this app being suggested.
I have heard about this Weave app and cannot find it anywhere on my app store. It looks exactly like what I need. Any ideas where it is or how to get it?
Bummer! I just looked up the Weave app and found a note that says they are shutting it down November 2015. It can still be used but some features will no longer be available–such as sharing projects with other users. In addition, you won’t be able to get any app support. What a bummer! Hopefully they are bringing together another app to replace it
So I do a lot of vending and what has really helped are some of these apps.
TabShop pro now they have a free version and one that you pay a one time free, I think its $5 but its sooo worth it. this little app keeps track of inventory, and it works like a register. Pinterest a must. Square, and drop box for pictures. if you want an online store, Storenvy.com or Weebly. Hope this helps follow me on IG
Rockadeadly thanks!
Weave is NOT available in US. Anyone know when it will be? btw: a warning of unavailability would have been nice.
Unfortunately Weave discontinued in 2015. I don’t suppose you have come across any other little gems? It’s such a shame as it looks as though Weave was exactly what I’m looking for!
It sounds good, but is it on Android? I have galaxy not an iphone, or anything from Apple now.
