4 Reasons to Monitor Your Etsy Shop Stats

May 21, 2015 by Rebecca George

Etsy has a really useful “Shop Stats” feature that is available for all sellers. You can use this page to see where views are coming from, how many views you are getting during a certain time period, and much more. Let’s look at a few ways to use the Etsy Shop Stats too in order to increase your Etsy shop’s views, sales, and marketing reach!

Find your shop stats when logged into Etsy by clicking on the “Your Shop” icon in the top right corner. Then click on the “Quick Links” drop down button and then “Stats.” Shop Stats can also be accessed by clicking on the link at the top of your shop page. A simplified version of the Stats is also available on the Etsy iPhone, iPad, and Android apps. Have you located your Etsy shop stats? Awesome! Let’s get started…

1. To Pinpoint Great Keywords

The most important use of Stats is to recognize which of your keywords are being found in search. Pinpoint the words or phrases that are getting the most traffic, then emphasize them in your listings (especially the tags, item titles, and item descriptions). Use Stats to analyze and then change out your tags and the keywords used in your product descriptions if they aren’t getting your items seen by shoppers and visitors.

2. To Find Blog Features

Oftentimes, bloggers will feature Etsy shops or projects they like, and Shop Stats is a great way to find out when that has happened. If you see a traffic source that looks like a blog or website, do a quick online search and them find the post that includes your item. Sometimes it takes a little digging, but finding my item feature is the best feeling ever. Also, I always give the blogger a mention on social media to show my appreciation!

3. To See Sales Totals

When doing your bookkeeping, the Stats tool makes it really easy to see totals for a particular amount of time. Select “Specific Dates” from the drop down menu and then specify the time period. This is so helpful when you want to know a monthly sales total or to compare your Etsy sales from year to year.

4. To Monitor Your Promoted Listings

If you’re paying to promote your listings on Etsy, use Stats to see how well they are performing. When Promoted Listings are active you’ll be able to see the Impressions, Clicks, Cost, and Revenue on the Stats page. It’s really useful for comparing your sales totals to see if promoting is working for your shop.

How else do you use Etsy Shop Stats to improve your Etsy sales?
