Boost Your Productivity & Get More Done

May 2, 2014 by CreativeIncome 2 Comments

With smartphones, tablets, TVs and social media, it’s so easy to get distracted. On days when you don’t feel like getting much done, it’s particularly hard to get down to business and produce quality blog content. While it’s important to take a day off every so often, you don’t want to turn it into a habit. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to boost productivity and accomplish daily goals without making yourself completely miserable.

Start with a few simple “life hacks” and you’ll be back to work in no time. On the Love Grows Design Blog, Bethany lays out some quick and simple tips that anyone can try. Best of all, you don’t need any fancy supplies or expensive materials to turn these ideas into a reality. In fact, one tip Bethany recommends is simply sitting up. When you’re lounging on the couch or slouching in a chair, you may not be quite so alert. Sit at a table or desk and home – you’ll find yourself sitting up whether you want to or not. Another tip she recommends for lethargic bloggers is adjusting the temperature. When the room is warm, you’re more likely to get tired. Simply turn down the heat or boost the air conditioning to help get your blood flowing.

    HI,
I get more done when I turn on the radio, and put myself in a happy frame of mind and go at it.
My daughter got a good way of doing things. She teachers piano, works on crafts, and also, full time student. She starts out each Sunday in making a list of every thing she is going to do that week. What time to get up and go to bed. I think she got on that list when she is going to go to the bathroom….lol But, she cleans my house up, finish the laundry, work on school work, get things together for her students and work on crafts. So, I started this (not the bathroom part) and it seem to me that I get more done with work, cooking, and doing part of the house work, starting laundry, and enjoying doing crafts. My daughter and I started cleaning house also in all this. So, each day is full but we still get craft project done each day of the week.

I work from home making craft items to sell at a Farmer’s Market and sit at my sewing machine for 12 to 15 hours day. My friends phone or drop by often so I started an old fashioned “at home” day. I am always up for a phone call but if they want to drop by, It has to be on a Thursday between 10 and 5. My friends can always stop by at night but I explained that most days I need to treat as if I was sitting at an office working. No one had their feelings hurt and I am able to get lots done. And by stating that I would be available after 10 am that gives me time to bake some “goodies” and make a pitcher of Earl Grey iced tea. So it is a party every Thursday. Oh, and some of my FM customers show up and have become good friends!!
