4 Things Every Blog Post Needs

August 11, 2016 by Einat Kessler

There are 4 things every blog post needs in order to keep your audience, and overall goal in mind. These certain features should be on every single blog, no matter the niche, or where you are on your blogging journey. These blogging tips can help increase your blog’s conversion rates which is what we all want right?4 Things Every

Create a fun, catchy title

When creating your post titles, you want them to entice people to read your content. Your post title is what will not only be seen on your blog, but on social media networks, and in search engines. With so much similar information available out there, you want to do what you can to make sure that your content is what people are choosing to read.

An image, with title, description, and alt text

Blog posts without pictures are harder to read, so you want an image. Make sure the image is yours to take and if you’re using someone else’s photo make sure it’s free. When you’re adding the image itself, change the name to something other than 839.jpg. Use your keyword, or the title of your blog post, or something relevant. An image is also important to social media like facebook and especially Pinterest.

Link to previous posts

Never publish a post, share it a few times, and then forget about it. Whenever possible, you should be placing links to your older content, within your new content. Linking to older posts allows you to quickly elaborate on the point you’re making, and drive traffic to your older content. This will achieve two things: get people to keep reading, and tell Google you’re serious about this. Google appreciates and rewards sites that link to great content, even if it’s something you said before.

Encourage engagement

Asking questions is a great way to encourage people to leave comments on your blog and engage with your content. Get a conversation started with a question so people can share their views. If you want your readers to do something specific like sign up for your newsletter then add a call for action with a link so your readers will be clear on what to do and where to go.

When she was a young girl Einat used to sit on the carpet at her grandparents’ house with a huge scrapbook on her knees looking through it with amazement. These albums, created from scratch by her grandfather took her imagination to faraway places and sparked her creativity years later. When her first son was born her grandfather suggested she would create a scrapbook to document his life. Einat was bit by the scrapbooking bug and the rest is history.
Today Einat is a versatile designer who owns her own business. She dabbles in various crafts from scrapbooking and altered art to mixed media and 3D paper crafts. She teaches online classes and design for several companies. She shares her projects and designs on her blog, FB page and very successful YouTube channel.
