IJustMakeStuffYes, this book is called I Just Like to Make Things. I know what you’re thinking, “Who doesn’t?”, but the focus of this handy book is to help creative people learn how to make money by doing what they love! Doesn’t that sound exactly like what you want to do?

As first, I was curious how this book would be different from all the other books out there that tell you they will teach you the best ways to create a business from your crafts, but I quickly realized this is not one of those books.

I Just Like to Make Things by Lilla Rogers is a fun and inspirational book filled with exercises, games, and interviews to help iron out any creative blocks and keep you motivated to doing what you’re doing. There are pages devoted to keeping your creativity going with fun activities like painting a page with nail polish or naming color splotches.

There are also great tips on organization and how to maintain a positive attitude. My favorite are the little artist interviews throughout the book, because no one can give you better advice than those that are doing it themselves. I’m also a big fan of the sections that talk about the various craft markets that your work could fit into. It’s very helpful to get those wheels turning about how and where you can expand your sales.

If you’re hoping to break away from craft fairs and online sales and move into creating and designing products that are sold in big box craft stores, this book can help give you some great ideas on where to start.

Pick it up today and let us know if you found it helpful!
